HOW TO CREATE THE FILE AND SAVE IT

Open AppleWorks to a blank word processing document.

Type in your assignment.

Choose Save As from the FILE menu.
In File Format choose Text.
Type the name of the file in the Save As space.
Save the file to your desktop (so you can find it later).

HOW TO UPLOAD THE FILE TO YOUR WEB SPACE

FOR .Mac USERS:

If you are using a .Mac account, copy the file to the Sites folder in your iDisk.
Log on to mac.com and go to Homepage.
Click the ADVANCED tab.
Click EXTERNAL HTML.
Highlight your file and click the Choose button.
Next click the PUBLISH button.

Your file is now uploaded.

FOR FTP USERS:

Download JFTP (free for non-commercial use) from http://www.jmethods.com/downloads/jftp/ and install application. Request a free license and install it.

Click ACTION > CONNECT
Fill in the HOST NAME, USERNAME & PASSWORD that were provided by your web host.
Click CONNECT button.
Your local files will be on the left-hand side, the web server will be on the right-hand side.
Locate your assignment on the left-hand (local) side and highlight it. Browse to the directory you want to upload the file to in the right-hand (remote) side. Click the sixth (6th) button from the left - Copy selected object(s) from local system to remote system.

The file is now uploaded.
